Meet Our Staff
Gregory Hengel, Jr., D.C.
Dr. Hengel has been practicing in Charlotte County since
2003. He began practicing as an associate of Gordon Rodetsky, D.C. (Gordon Chiropractic), and has now established Hengel
Family Chiropractic, P.A. Dr. Hengel has been practicing at his Kings Highway office since August 2005.
Dr. Hengel received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky, in Lexington, KY. While attending the University of Kentucky, Dr. Hengel was a 4-year member of the varsity swim team. He held a team record at UK as a member of the 200-yard medley relay, and was the team captain during his junior and senior years. Dr. Hengel suffered shoulder injuries during his time as a member of the UK swim team, and those injuries, as well as the treatment he received, led him into the chiropractic profession. Dr. Hengel attained his doctorial degree from Logan College of Chiropractic, in St. Louis, MO. While attending Logan, Dr. Hengel focused his education and training on musculoskeletal rehabilitation techniques. He became very involved in Active Release Techniques® (ART®), as well as cervical and lumbar spine decompression techniques (Cox® Decompression Adjustments). Since moving to Florida, Dr. Hengel has been a treating physician for Tropicana in their workers compensation division and is also a treating physician for the Ironman Triathlon®. Dr. Hengel’s wife, Kristin, was a biology teacher at Charlotte High School for two years before deciding to stay at home and raise their children. During his free time Dr. Hengel enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and visiting Walt Disney World®. Amy Mills
Office Manager
Amy Mills has been the Office Manager and Insurance
Industry Expert for Hengel Family Chiropractic, P.A. since November 2006. Amy has extensive experience in the health
care and insurance industry fields. Prior to joining Hengel Family Chiropractic, P.A. she worked in a local pediatric
office. She has also worked in an administrative assistant position at Port Charlotte High School. Originally from Sterling, IL, Amy has been a resident of Charlotte County since 1997. She is a graduate of Port Charlotte High School. During her free time Amy enjoys reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her family. Joan Hoff Licensed Massage Therapist Joan
has been active in the medical field in Charlotte County for many years, joining the team at Hengel Family Chiropractic in
April 2009. She is a professional member of both the NCBTMB and FSMTA. CPR certified, she has specialty training
in Neuromuscular Therapy, Cupping, and Warm Stones. Soon she will be offering Ashiatusu Massage. Joan is originally from Herndon, Virginia, but her heart is in Punta Gorda
where she and her husband own a small horse ranch. Formerly a fitness trainer, her interests are jogging and any outdoor
activities.
